May 2015 on etsy shop!

Gosh promised myself I would update what’s happening on the dette ryan etsy shop regularly on my blog! So much for promises you might say. Anyway it can only get better from here she says with conviction! So in May was up to 129 listings and 56 sales so far. I’m happy. Got a few pieces of vintage fabric on there but lots more to come. Sold a lovely wooden hand mannequin on a chrome stand and the display box of 12 Sanford ink bottles. That was fun to package! Even got a couple of hat blocks on there. Several hundred items waiting to show so keep looking folks …

Vintage cast iron Bradley & Hubbard dog bookend. Would have been one of a pair. Weighing over 1 kg, I have used this as a doorstop and it is most effective. Missing paint and a bit of rust makes this item even more adorable. Has the ‘B & H’ mark on the back.

Lovely simple design vintage wine bottle cork inserter tool. There is no makers mark to indicate where it was made, but most of these types of old wooden cork inserters appear to have come from Europe. Many are French in origin. It is made of some sort of hardwood and the inside bottom section is lined in what I think is tin. There is a black rubber piece at the base of the plunger handle. This item works by placing a wet cork into the opening of the wine bottle, then putting the corker tool over the top of the bottle and pushing down on the plunger, thus pushing the cork into the bottle.

Vintage wicker hat display stand with a chin, determining a front and a back. This item has sold.IMG_5947

Lovely vintage wooden hem measure on a blue painted base. Has a red plastic indicator knob that moves up and down the wooden measure. There is a wee piece of black felt at the bottom, presumably to hold a few pins? The numbers and markings on the wooden ruler at still very vibrant. The red plastic indicator shaped like an arrow advises the measure is made in Australia and has a registration number; RD. NO 22817. The ruler lifts out of the base.IMG_6009
