Bring on the wool… winters coming!

Where I am the leaves are lovely autumn colours and falling from the trees, the temperature is dropping and I have just had a visit from an old friend who knitted me the most beautiful shawl.

During her stay she had her knitting needles out most days with not one, not two but five pieces of knitting and crochet on the go. With inspiration oozing out of us we went in search of a ‘good’ wool shop and were not disappointed.

We emerged about an hour and a half later with supplies including wool and patterns for wraps, poncho’s, baby hats, blankets and socks. My friend also introduced me to the website ‘ravelry.com’ and the opportunity to view and purchase patterns galore. I have decided to start with a simple wrap (or poncho depending on how I sew it together) in green merino wool. Completed the first 30 cm’s, only another 100 odd to go!

See my next post to discover the beautiful shawl made just for me, lucky girl I am to have such a wonderful friend.

  1. Lucky indeed! Maybe I should send her my hot water bottle cover to finish, after 5 winters I rather suspect I need a little more focus………..
