My veggie garden…

This is my first serious attempt at a vegetable garden. Unfortunately I have moved on from this plot, but for one glorious summer I got to plant and eat the things I grew, which is a very inspiring experience. Having seen my mothers garden creations and what she produces I think it is a real ‘crafty thing’

I defined the area utilising an existing fence and some iron surrounds I picked up at an auction. I realise they probably came from around a plot in a grave yard and this might not be to everyone’s palate. They certainly created a bit of a talking point when anyone ventured a look.

You enter the vegetable garden in the centre and walk across a few wooden stepping stones to the beans and tomatoes growing up the back fence. In front of the tomatoes and beans I grew beetroot, capsicums (picked red as these are the best), red onions, chillis, carrots, spring onions, zuchini and fennel (shown below under salmon from a Donna Hay recipe).
