The lovely teatowel

Over the years I have collected many beautiful vintage teatowels, most of them pure linen. Recently I picked this one up, entitled ‘Australian Waratah’. The colours of the flowers are really lovely.

I will often hang a precious teatowel on the wall or over something just so I get to enjoy it for a while. No washing up duties for these babies!

I have also used teatowels to make cushions by folding them in half. These can work even if the design on the teatowel takes up the whole space (see post ‘Teatowel Cushions’ July 5, 2011).
