Bride number two
I have just completed another two brides to gather on the mantlepiece. For my second bride I sewed wires around her head and then wrapped wool around to create her hair. She has a veil attached with a paper flower and pearl bead sewn in the centre of the flower. I have used the same paper flower on the back of the dress.
Her bodice is created using very soft ‘cobweb’ paper gathered and stitched around her boobs and middle area. Although the paper is thin it is quite strong and I found it great to work with. The underskirt is made using stiff netting with a lighter netting gathered over the top. The stiff netting is what makes her stand upright.
One of the sisters named her ‘Patsy’. I think I will now have to make an ‘Eddie’, I imagine she would require an avant garde number to really do her justice!
I love this one 🙂
