Bride number three

For this bride I used the design on the paper to create the bodice cutting around the flower petals in the shape of the boobs. Although the paper was heavy and stiff, which made it difficult to work with, the stiffness of the pleated skirt allowed the bride to stand without needing much support from an underskirt.

I used a light curling ribbon to create her hair and some premade flowers I found at Spotlight as the head piece. The flowers are also clustered on the side of the dress and the wire stems shaped into a heart. The other flowers on the dress (to cover the join at the side and back) were cut off ribbon purchased by the metre.

Soft ‘cobweb’ paper was used to make the sash around the middle.
